Fuel prices may rise again. Diesel averages above €2

Drivers may once again pay more for fuel. Station owners warn that further price increases are possible if global oil prices remain high.

There's no word yet on how much or when fuel prices might rise. As of October 27, a liter of 95-octane gasoline cost an average of €1.729, and diesel fuel €2.005.

Gas station owners warn against price increases

Savvas Prokopiou, president of the association of gas station owners, estimates that if the oil price remains around $110 per barrel in the coming days, it may translate into an increase in fuel prices on the local market.

An industry representative presented this assessment in an interview with state radio. However, he did not provide a specific amount or date for future increases.

This is a warning about possible developments. It does not mean that the new price has been set for all stations.

How much does fuel cost?

According to Source Cyprus's compilation October 27, 10:18 AM, the average price of 95-octane petrol was €1.729 per litre. A litre of 98-octane petrol cost an average of €1.787, and diesel cost €2.005.

Prices at individual gas stations may be lower or higher than average. The table also shows the lowest prices from October 27th and the highest prices from the previous available list.

At average prices from October 27, 40 liters of 95 octane petrol cost approximately 69.16 euros, and for 40 liters of diesel fuel approximately 80.20 eurosThe difference is 11.04 euros.

Differences between stations

In the comparison from October 27, the lowest price of 95 octane petrol was recorded in the Larnaca district — 1,645 euros per literThe cheapest diesel fuel in the same district cost €1,925 per liter.

For comparison, the lowest price for 95-octane petrol reported in the Paphos district was €1,725. These are the lowest prices found in the given regions at the given time, not average prices for entire cities.

Before heading to a cheaper station, it's worth checking the time of the last update. If you're filling up small, the distance you'll need to travel to get there is also a factor.

Reduced excise duty until the end of November

Fuel prices are also being impacted by the government's continued excise tax cuts. In September, the authorities decided to extend this measure. until November 30, 2026.

The reduction amounts to 8.33 cents per liter for both gasoline and diesel. The Ministry of Finance announced that it will continue to monitor the situation in the international energy market.

On this basis, no decision regarding excise duty after November 30 has been announced.

Refueling on the other side of the Green Line

Rising fuel costs have prompted some drivers to fill up in the occupied north of the island. Before making such a trip, it's worth checking the rules for transporting fuel across the Green Line, especially if you plan to carry extra fuel in a canister.

Rules regarding fuel in the vehicle's tank and any additional containers should be checked separately. Transport conditions and applicable limits also apply.

For now, industry representatives are talking about possibilities further increases. Drivers should therefore monitor prices at local stations, remembering that the averages provided reflect the situation at a specific moment.
