Halloween in Limassol. 13 teenagers hospitalized after drinking alcohol.
Halloween in Limassol ended with medical interventions after underage drinking. Police identified 13 participants, aged 15-17, who were admitted to medical facilities after Saturday's party. According to the latest reports, all have since been discharged.
Parents were reportedly informed in advance that the event would be held at a different location and without alcohol. Ultimately, the event was moved to a seaside venue. Investigators are investigating the circumstances surrounding the admission of minors and the sale of alcoholic beverages to them.
Halloween in Limassol - Change of venue before the party
The party took place on Saturday, October 31, 2026. According to information provided by Limassol Deputy Police Chief Lefteris Kyriakou, the parents were aware of the event being planned at a different location. According to the information provided, there was no alcohol involved.
The student provided additional details in an interview with Philenews. She claims that participants were initially scheduled to meet at the amphitheater in Mouttagiaka. They learned about the change of venue from an Instagram post, and the organizers attributed it to sound and lighting issues.
A student describes the queue and the additional fee.
The Philenews interviewee stated that she had paid eight euros in advance for the reservation. Upon arrival, she was told that the entry fee was 25 euros and that an additional fee was required. Her account does not clearly indicate the final total paid by individual participants.
According to the student, a large crowd gathered outside the venue, and entry was delayed by approximately 40 minutes. The crowd was reportedly made up of students from various parts of Limassol. Security was present both at the entrance and inside.
This is a description of one participant, not a complete reconstruction of the event. The circumstances surrounding ticket sales, venue changes, and entry checks require clarification as part of the investigation.
Participants feeling unwell and an ambulance was called
The student reported that between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. she began noticing people having trouble maintaining their balance, vomiting, and complaining of dizziness. She also described a girl who collapsed into the arms of other participants.
She herself, she noted, didn't drink alcohol. However, she saw other minors drinking, among other things, vodka and juice. When her parents arrived to pick her up around 10:00 PM, an ambulance was already parked outside the venue.
The witness's account does not allow for the identification of specific diagnoses or the amount of alcohol consumed by each individual. However, police have confirmed that 13 teenagers were involved in the case and received treatment at various medical facilities.
Everyone was discharged
In a later update, AlphaNews, citing police communications officer Michalis Michael, reported that the minors had been examined and discharged. This information was also reported by the Cyprus Mail.
Therefore, the number of people admitted to hospitals should not be equated with the number of patients remaining in the wards. According to the available update, there was no need for further hospitalization of these participants.
Police determine responsibility for organization and alcohol
Investigators are collecting statements from parents, minors, and other people involved in the event. According to information provided by Philenews, six parents were interviewed at one stage of the investigation. The suspect's identity was also identified as the organizer of the event.
Police are investigating possible violations involving the admission of minors to the nightclub and the sale of alcohol to them. The announcement that the case will be brought to justice applies to those whose responsibility has been established. It does not mean that the organizers have been convicted or that the role of everyone involved in organizing the event has been determined.
