The weather forecast for the weekend will remain unsettled. Localized rainfall and isolated thunderstorms are possible across various parts of the island on Saturday and Sunday. Hail is also possible during more severe storms.

Rain is possible along the coast, in the mountains, and inland. According to Friday's forecast, the unsettled weather will continue until Monday, with temperatures remaining slightly below typical early October levels.

Weather forecast for the weekend. Where might it rain?

During the morning and night hours, rainfall and isolated thunderstorms are likely to occur primarily along the coast and in the mountains. During the day, precipitation may also develop inland.

However, the forecast doesn't indicate two days of continuous rain. Precipitation will be localized, so conditions may vary between locations. Clear spells don't rule out a storm later.

During more severe storms, expect heavy rain, hail, and stronger wind gusts. Within storms, winds may temporarily change direction and reach force 5-6 on the Beaufort scale.

Friday morning and evening in Limassol

We're including two recordings from Limassol from Friday, October 2nd—one from the morning and one from the evening. These are a snapshot of conditions at a specific time and location. The local nature of the phenomena means that the weather in other parts of the city and island could be different.

Temperatures will remain below normal

Friday's forecast predicted maximum temperatures of around 28 degrees Celsius inland and on the south and east coasts. Temperatures in other coastal regions were forecast to reach around 26 degrees Celsius, and in the highest parts of the Troodos Mountains, around 17 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures are expected to remain slightly below average for this time of year through Monday. The previous weekend forecast did not indicate a significant change.

When planning a trip to the mountains, it's worth considering cooler conditions, especially in the evenings. Warmer clothing and rain protection will also be useful on longer hikes.

Weekend plans taking storms into account

Localized rainfall won't ruin your entire weekend, but it's worth being flexible when choosing your destination and time. Before heading to the beach, mountains, or hiking, check the current forecast and any weather warnings.

During heavy rain, drivers should reduce speed and increase their distance from the vehicle in front. Water on the road and limited visibility can make travel difficult, especially on mountainous roads.

If thunder appears during your walk, it's best to abort your hike and find a safe haven. The weekend will bring changeable conditions, so a sunny start to the day shouldn't be the only basis for planning long hours outdoors.
