Last chance to attend the Limassol Wine Festival. Today is the finale.
Today, Sunday, October 4th, marks the end of the 65th Limassol Wine Festival. This is the last opportunity this year to visit the Municipal Gardens, sample local wines and dishes, and enjoy live performances. Gates will be open from 7:00 PM until midnight. Adult tickets cost €5.
This year's edition attracts an average of around 5,000 visitors each evening. According to the daily "Politis," attendance remains at a similar, very high level to last year. Sunday's finale will feature concerts, attractions for children, a palouze making demonstration, and the traditional festival farewell at the Vrakas statue.
The Limassol Wine Festival ends today
Those who have been postponing their visit can now enjoy the final evening of the festival. The event, which began on September 26th, spanned nine days of tastings, music, dance, local cuisine, and Cypriot traditions.
A musical program dedicated to the traditions of Cyprus and Greece is planned for Sunday. At 8:00 p.m. Vasiliki Hadjiadamou, Christakis Anastasiou and Sotiris Petsas will perform at the Vrakas statue.
Earlier, at 7:30 PM, the city orchestra will play in front of the distinctive statue of the winemaker. A shadow puppet show featuring Karagiozis will begin in the children's area at the same time.
Sunday's program also included a demonstration of how to prepare palouzes, a traditional dessert made from grape must thickened with flour.
Thousands of visitors every evening
According to Politis, an average of around 5,000 people pass through the gates of the Municipal Gardens daily. The high level of interest was particularly evident during the October 1st festival and the evening preceding it.
Many families with children attend. The festival is also visited by tourists and foreign residents of Limassol, who attend shows, concerts, and the traditional grape trampling.
Souvenir vessels and bottles are proving very popular. Sales remain at the high level of last year, when record demand was recorded. As the newspaper reports, wine barrels are regularly emptied and refilled.

This is also a proposition for families
The festival isn't limited to wine. Behind the Vrakas statue, there's a dedicated space for children, including creative activities and pottery workshops.
Children can make figurines, magnets, and clay objects. Adults can also enjoy traditional crafts, music, and food related to the Cypriot grape harvest.
Moving the event to late September and early October is ideal for family visits. Milder temperatures make it easier to spend a few hours outdoors, and the extensive program keeps people of all ages occupied.
The final evening of the Limassol Wine Festival begins tonight at 7:00 PM. The Municipal Gardens will remain open until midnight.
