November 11th in Cyprus. The first motorcycle independence ride.
On November 11th, Cyprus will also be able to celebrate on two wheels. The first motorcycle independence ride has been announced in Nicosia. The rally will take place on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Polish Embassy.
The initiative is led by Katarzyna Jurzak-Cebula, a teacher at the School of Polish Language and Culture in Paralimni. The plan includes a meeting, a tour of the city, and a coffee break at the end. Participants are encouraged to prepare red and white accents.
November 11 in Cyprus - shared ride and coffee
The announcement presents the event as a gathering of friends to celebrate Poland's Independence Day. The formula is simple: first, a gathering in the capital, then a drive through the city streets, and then time for conversation over coffee.
This is a proposal to combine motorcycling passion with shared celebration. The red and white accents are meant to remind us of the occasion for which participants will gather in Nicosia that day.
The idea was created by a teacher from Paralimni
The initiator of the first such ride in Cyprus is Katarzyna Jurzak-Cebula, associated with the School of Polish Language and Culture in Paralimni. This time, the occasion will be motorcycles and the Polish national holiday.
The event is designed for camaraderie. The announcement doesn't portray it as a formal parade or elaborate celebration. The emphasis is on spending time together—both during and after the ride.
The Polish Embassy has been designated as the meeting point. This does not, in itself, mean that the Embassy is the organizer of the trip.
The Polish community also meets outside the school classroom.
On CYPRNews, we've previously reported on the activities of the school in Paralimni promoting Polish language and culture. In September, students participated in music workshops led by young artists from Poland. They enjoyed group singing, piano lessons, and rhythmic exercises.
The November initiative of the teacher from this school takes a different form, but also creates an opportunity to meet the Polish community on the island.
Those planning to attend should note any additions to the announcement regarding the route and the coffee break location. The current poster indicates the gathering begins at 11:00 AM—no specific departure time is indicated.
