Road closures in Nicosia. Run as One on Sunday and disruptions from 6:30 a.m.

Road closures in Nicosia will make it difficult to travel through Engomi on Sunday, October 18th. Due to the Alphamega Run as One charity race, restrictions will begin at 6:30 a.m. and will cover sections of Griva Digeni Avenue, Archangelou Avenue, and Nikou Kranidioti Street. The race is scheduled to run from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m.

Police recommend choosing an alternative route in advance and following officer instructions. The start and finish lines will be at the Alphamega supermarket in Engomi. The event will also feature a free Fun Park, which is also available for families who don't intend to participate in the races.

Nicosia Road Closures – Where Will the Restrictions Be?

Sunday's changes will affect several important road connections in the western part of the capital. Drivers should also consider these changes if they are just passing through Engomi.

The police announcement indicates specific sections and lanes. This does not mean the entire length of the streets in question is closed.

The organizer also indicates the routes through Agiou Prokopiou Street and around the Dias Complex roundabout. Maps of individual races are helpful in locating the event area, but they do not represent designated detours.

Don't assume your car's navigation system will immediately take into account all time constraints. Before setting off, it's a good idea to check your itinerary and allow extra time for your journey.

Run as One for the eleventh time

The Alphamega Run as One combines sports competition, family activities, and helping children. This year's edition will take place at the Alphamega store in Engomi, where the start and finish lines have been designated.

The program includes both a half marathon and shorter distances. Those not training for a long run might be interested in the family Fun Run.

Participation in individual competitions is subject to the organizer's rules. Free access to the fun zone does not mean that all competitions are also free.

Free Fun Park for families

A free Fun Park will be open at Alphamega in Engomi from 9:00 a.m. Those who don't register for any of the races will also be able to use the area.

Organizers promise games, team activities, music, and dancing. Families are welcome to come cheer on the participants and enjoy the prepared program.

The charity's goal is to support a healthy eating program for children aged 9–12. It includes consultations with specialists and individualized nutrition plans.

Drivers should plan their journey in advance

Road closures in Nicosia should be taken into account both when travelling to the event and for regular Sunday journeys through Engomi.

It's best to choose a route that avoids the designated sections. Avoid entering closed lanes or attempting shortcuts through the competition area.

Participants should also check the organizer's parking instructions. The designated start and finish areas are not automatically accessible parking for arriving participants.

The competition is scheduled to end around 1:00 PM. Event security personnel will determine whether specific sections are accessible.
