Poles Meet in Coral Bay. Tourists Also Invited
On Wednesday, October 7, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., another meeting of Poles from Paphos and Pegeia will take place. The meeting place will be Arapis in Coral Bay. The invitation is open to both locals and those visiting Cyprus for vacation.
The initiative is celebrating its first anniversary. The first meeting was held October 1, 2025, and the spontaneous idea turned into further conversations, connections, and friendships. The organizers also encourage those who don't know anyone there yet to come.
From an idea to a year of meetings together
It all started with an observation likely shared by many residents of the western part of the island: Polish is increasingly heard in Paphos. Some come for a few days, others return regularly, and some decide to stay longer.
The initiative's creators also noticed that Poles' online posts echoed a similar sentiment—admiration for Cyprus. So they decided to create an opportunity for people to get to know each other beyond social media.
The first invitation began with a simple "Hey! We have an idea..." A year later, the meetings are still taking place, and their initiators write about the new connections and friendships that have been formed during this time.
The October meeting is therefore another opportunity to talk, but also a reminder of how much can result from one spontaneous invitation.
Do you live in Cyprus? Or are you here on vacation?
You don't have to have lived in Paphos for years or be a regular participant. The organizers also welcome new residents and tourists who happen to be vacationing in this part of the island.
For visitors to Cyprus, this can be an opportunity to meet people who live here and exchange tips on what to see, where to eat, and how to spend time beyond the most obvious attractions.
For those who have recently moved, such a meeting can be the first step in getting to know the local Polish community. Conversation in Polish and the opportunity to share experiences often help them find their feet in a new place.
The invitation authors emphasize that everyone was new once. They encourage you to come even if you don't know any of the participants yet.

FIND A PLACE ON THE MAPTwo hours for conversation and making new friends
The meeting is scheduled for two hours, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. At the heart of the invitation are people: their stories, experiences, and desire to spend time together.
You can drop by during your vacation, bring friends, or show up on your own. Organizers encourage openness above all else—a first conversation can be the beginning of a friendship that will last beyond your vacation.
After a year of regular meetings, the initiative demonstrates that the Polish community in the region needs to connect offline as well. Another opportunity to join on Wednesday, October 7, at Arapis in Coral Bay.
