The Swiss-inspired miniature railway in Emba

The installation covers an area of approximately 1,500 square meters. Its creators were inspired by the famous Swiss Glacier Express.

Trains cross bridges, disappear into tunnels, and navigate routes through carefully crafted landscapes. The model includes miniature stations, houses, and a church.

Some sections of the structure reach a height of 2.5 meters. The varied layout allows for observation of the trains at different levels and their path between individual parts of the installation.

This is a great option for families with children, as well as modeling and railway enthusiasts. The attraction is watching the models in motion—the announcement does not include rides for visitors.

The lights will come on after dark

The open day will last until 8:00 p.m., so you can also see the miniature railway after dark.

Illuminated trains and buildings then transform the entire installation. Stations, houses, and a church create an illuminated backdrop through which the trains move.

Families can schedule a visit in the afternoon or choose a later time to view the model with the lights on. This allows them to see the same space from two different perspectives.

The project was created by eight people

Eight men from Cyprus, England, South Africa, Germany and Austria are responsible for the construction and maintenance of the installation.

The team combined various professional skills and experiences. Among the creators were technicians, a German carpenter, and a former Cyprus Airways chief pilot.

Preparing such a railway requires not only the construction of buildings and landscaping. Planning train traffic is also crucial. Technical solutions allow trains to be routed along the network without collisions.

Visitors will see a working installation in which miniature architecture, tracks and mechanics form a single whole.

Free attraction and assistance for patients

Admission to the event is free. During the open day, the Paphos Kidney Association will be selling cakes and refreshments to raise funds for its activities.

A tombola, or prize draw, is also planned. The prizes will include Swiss-themed prizes. Proceeds from this part of the event will also support the organization.

Visitors will be able to combine a family afternoon with helping people with kidney disease. This is the third time the open house has been held.
